Aurora Lodge is CSIR's latest purchase. The 2012 winter season was our first use of this lodge located in prime ski-in and ski-out territory right in the middle of Falls Creek village. It is a multi-level lodge with comfortable accommodation for 30 people.
Aurora was built in 1968 but has been extensively upgraded, extended and renovated over the years, with plenty of social space and a cosy open fireplace.
Facilities include:
   • comfortable accommodation over four levels.
   • Bedrooms and bathrooms are over two top levels.
   • A fully equipped kitchen, dining room and two lounges with a fireplace in one and TV in another.
   • On the lower level is the unski area, a ski/board racks area, drying room, games room and workshop and laundry.

 


    

    

 

Getting there

The lodge is located at 1 Schuss Street Falls Creek. This is about halfway between Parallel Street and Arlberg Street on the uphill side of Schuss Street.

Travel Time
Falls Creek is 356km from Melbourne, allow around:
   • 5 - 6 hours 

Diesel Drivers do not forget to get alpine diesel in Myrtleford or Bright to prevent your fuel freezing.

 

Transport

Entry Permits & Parking Info

A resort entry permit is required upon entering the Falls Creek Resort Management area which includes parking.
Access to the lodge is provided by over snow transport operating from the bottom of Falls Creek Road.

What to Bring

To ensure you're stay is as comfortable as possible, bring the following basics:
   • Single sheets, doona cover and pillowcase (doonas and pillows provided), or bring a sleeping bag.
   • Bath towel & toiletries.
   • Food for your stay, apart from the basics which are provided by the club such as flour, oats, coffee and tea, condiments, oil and various other basic cooking supplies
   • Sensible warm and waterproof appropriate clothing (regardless of the season)

Doonas and pillows are provided, BYO sheets and pillow cases.

Shopping on the way or on mountain
   • Woolworths in Bright, is open until midnight on Friday’s and 9pm on other nights.
