Our Club

The CSIR Ski Club is a member's club dedicated to providing family friendly, affordable accommodation, year round at all three of Victorian mountains.

The CSIR Ski Club strives to promote alpine activities by providing economical, year round alpine accommodation for club members, their families and their guest, while fostering club spirit. The Club has lodges at Mt Hotham, Falls Creek and Mt Buller available for booking all year round.

The club caters for skiers and snowboarders, walkers and alpine visitors who enjoy alpine activities both in the winter and non-winter months.

Our History

The CSIR Ski Club, one of Victoria's earliest clubs, was formed in 1945 by employees of the 'Council for Scientific and Industrial Research' (CSIR). The club's name remained unchanged when the CSIR later changed to become the 'Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization' (CSIRO) in 1949. Originally an employee's-only club, the rules of membership were later changed to allow both CSIRO and non-CSIRO employees to join.
