One of the unique features of the CSIR Ski Club is it's four lodges spread across Victoria's three major alpine resorts - Mount Buller, Mount Hotham (The Drift) and Falls Creek (Sastrugi and Chinook).
Features
All lodges feature fully equiped communal kitchens, large living areas and a variety of bedrooms with shared bathroom facilities and drying rooms.
Other facilities include wasing machines, TV and video, telephone and fax and some lodges also offer open fires, pool tabels and table tennis tables - click on the specific lodge below for more information.
What to Bring
To ensure you're stay is as comfortable as possible, don't forget the following basics -
- Sheets/sleeping bag/doona cover and pillowcase (doonas and extra blankets provided).
- Bath towel & toiletries.
- Food for your stay (the mountain supermarkets don't stay open late).
- Warm clothing. The mountains are unpredictable, even in summer, and warm clothing, a jacket, and good waterproof shoes or boots are a must at all times. Hats and gloves are desirable, and a block-out sunscreen is a must in summer.
- Maps ! Not just bushwalkers and cross-country skiiers need these, as people can (and have) become lost close to the villages in "white out" conditions.
